Stainless Steel Nuts and Bolts

We only use Marine Grade 316 Stainless steel (A4). The addition of molybdenum and higher nickel content make our 316SS Fasteners more corrosion resistant compared to their 18-8 or 304SS counterparts. If your fasteners are to be used in a marine or otherwise corrosive environment, then upgrading to 316SS over 304SS is a worthy investment.
Big box stores will often sell inferior stainless alloys that are simply labelled as “stainless” without naming the alloy. Those fasteners are undoubtedly not the 316SS that is needed in a marine fastener application. Here at Fair Wind Fasteners we only deal in fasteners and alloys that we’d use ourselves.
